We have a beautiful German Kindergarten in London Fields. We believe in learning through play close to nature. Offer a nurturing and immersive German speaking environment we give each child the opportunity to become independent and confident.

8—6pm Monday—Friday 50 weeks a year

Patricia Sokoll

manager

Patricia is from Switzerland and the manager in London Fields. She has been with the German Kindergarten for a few years, working as an early years teacher, before moving to the new setting. Patricia gained her Bachelor in Social Work in Switzerland as well as an Early Years diploma here in England. Patricia aimes to create a happy and safe environment for all children at the Kindergarten and believes that strong and positive relationships help children learn and thrive.

Carina Bergsmann

Deputy Manager

Carina is a qualified Early years teacher from Austria. She used to be an Au-pair in London and worked in Austria as a lead nursery teacher where she was able to gain many valuable skills. Carina loves to play the guitar and singing songs in German and English. She believes that children should grow up in a musically rich environment and that it is advantageous for children’s language development. Carina also enjoys arts and crafts projects with the children. It is important to her that every child feels safe and well cared for in the group, valued and accompanied as best as possible in their individual development.

 
 
 

Haben Mebrahtu

Haben was born in Eritrea and moved to Germany as a child. She grew up near Frankfurt and later relocated to London. In London, she earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology but has always had a passion for working with children. Before joining the kindergarten, she volunteered for various organisations that aimed to assist children from disadvantaged backgrounds, as she believes in equal opportunities. At the kindergarten, she loves engaging the children in arts and crafts while guiding creative projects that encourage children to explore a variety of art materials, textures, and techniques. Her approach is all about letting kids make their own choices while gently steering them when needed.

 

Maya Marceno

Maya is a qualified Early Years Teacher from Germany. She used to work as a multilingual nursery teacher in Madrid, teaching her students in German, English and Spanish. Maya believes that children should be given the necessary time and space to develop themselves in a safe, pressure-free and loving environment. Maya enjoys dancing and movement games with the children. She also believes that growing up with multiple languages does not only support the overall development of a child but allows you to discover the world from different views.

Eva Orfanos

Eva grew up on the Greek island of Samos in a trilingual household speaking Greek, German and English. In 2012 she moved to Munich where she completed her level 6 qualification as an Early Years teacher. Prior to moving to the German Kindergarten, Eva was working for 6 years at an inclusive Kindergarten in Haidhausen with groups of children aged 3 – 8 years. Eva has a passion for creative arts and has integrated this into her practice. She enjoys introducing different artistic modalities to children and exploring their unique creativity, putting them at the centre of their learning. Eva thrives on creating healthy and positive environments where children can develop their self-confidence, independence, and social skills in order to prepare them for the next steps in their journeys.

 

Laura Niehsen

Laura grew up near the city of Hildesheim in Germany. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Work. Before she joined the London Fields team Laura was working as Nursery School Teacher at the English Montessori Nursery School in Larnaca, Cyprus. She enjoys creative projects with the children as a way to learn, refine and develop skills. She believes in the child’s competence by giving them the ability to make their own choices providing gentle guidance and creating a safe and happy environment.

Susi Koch

Susi came to London from Berlin in the 80s and after studying Art she set up a small publishing company with her husband.  Susi has managed to combine this with bringing up her two children who are both bilingual. She has been a volunteer at her children's school and has also been involved in running a lunchtime club at the Gayhurst community school. Susi takes a child centred approach to childcare and is experienced at using her art and design background to engage children in creative play.  Having moved around a good deal as a child herself she is particularly aware of the need for a safe, friendly and encouraging environment for children.  She is also a keen gardener and enjoys involving the children in growing projects. She supports the German Kindergarten 2 days week.
